The material handler will need to perform the following job content functions:
- Moving materials throughout the plant and to other facility areas.
- Delivering materials to and from equipment in strict compliance with manufacturing procedures at workstations.
- Loading and unloading implements and tools from incoming and outgoing trucks.
- Supervising and verifying the accuracy of incoming raw materials.
- Making appropriate entries in the computer system.
- Maintaining scrap container levels and coordinating with vendors for emptying.
- Assisting in the product packaging procedure.
- Responsibility for keeping the area around the scrap container clean and free of metal debris.
- Establishing safety and cleaning procedures.
In addition to these tasks, the incumbent must be available for other duties and responsibilities as needed, considering the business needs of the company.
The applicant must have one year of prior experience operating an electric forklift, as well as basic mathematical skills and the ability to multitask in a highly dynamic work environment.
Teamwork and independent work skills are also required.
Physical requirements are also a factor to consider when applying for the position, as the job demands the ability to lift weights of 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
