Small Business Assistance Program Initiated in this Miami Dade District

In one of the Miami Dade districts, a beneficial assistance program has been announced.

It’s about the Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program for this year 2024.

According to information from official sources, this program is driven by Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermúdez.

The Commissioner of Miami Dade’s District 12 is inviting all small business owners to apply for inclusion in this program.

This Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program is not the first time it has been implemented; since 2018, it has been carried out with the goal of growing these small businesses that are experiencing losses.

Similarly, during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was put into practice to help restore those small businesses that suffered losses or even closed.

The information explains that interested parties should look for the applications at the District 12 office located at the following address: 8345 NW 12th St., Miami, FL 33126, or by accessing the County’s website.

Another valuable piece of information is the application period, which starts on the 12th and extends until the 28th of February this year, 2024.

Likewise, it is made known to the owners of the applicant companies for financing that their small business (for-profit enterprise) must have been in operation for at least one year, and it is clarified that they must be located in Miami Dade County’s District 12.

The value of the financing for each company in the Program is around $2,500, which can be used for the purchase of supplies, equipment, advertising, insurance, among other services such as organizing events, developing seminars, and accounting.

It is also announced that on February 28th, a meeting will be held to review matters related to the applications and the requirements to be selected. This meeting will take place at the Firefighters Memorial Building, 8000 NW 21st St., Miami, FL 33122.

Attendance at this meeting (mandatory) does not guarantee financing for the Company as part of the Program.

After filling out the applications, they can be personally delivered to the District 12 office from February 29th to March 7th, during the hours between 9 a.m. and 12 noon and in the afternoon between 1 and 4 p.m. Applications will not be accepted outside of these times.

Interested parties can obtain all the details by contacting Olga L. Hernández, who is the chief of staff for Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermúdez, at the phone number 305-599-1200, and also with Victoria Goss from the Neighbors and Neighbors Association (NANA) at the phone number 305-756-0605.
