ULTRA Fest 2024 Arrives in Miami!: Check Out the Traffic Changes

With the upcoming Ultra Electronic Music Festival 2024 in Miami-Dade, county authorities have informed about the transit impacts.

The twenty-fourth edition of the event will take place between March 22 and 24 at Bayfront Park, where it is estimated that more than 150,000 people from around the world could attend, fans of the music of David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Alan Walker, and Eric Prydz, among other renowned DJs.

To prevent traffic congestion given the impressive number of visitors over the weekend, diversions and road closures in the city are already being announced.

The measures will come into effect on Thursday, March 21 at 9 p.m. and will remain in place until Monday, March 25 at 7 a.m.

Here are the traffic diversions on Biscayne Boulevard:

The usual northbound traffic on Biscayne Boulevard will be diverted to the southbound lanes at SE 1 Street and will return to its normal flow at NE 4 Street.

Those driving on Biscayne Boulevard southbound during these dates will have to divert west at NE 6 Street to NE 2 Avenue and/or North Miami Avenue.

It is indicated that there will be no southbound traffic on Biscayne Boulevard from NE 6 Street.

Traffic changes at the Port of Miami:

The county indicated that during the mentioned dates, access to Port of Miami traffic will always remain open via NE 5 Street.

It is recommended to drive through the Miami port tunnel accessing from I-395.

Which Metrobus routes will be diverted?

Metrobus routes 3, 9, 203, and 100 will be diverted from 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 25.

It is reported that all buses serving the Omni, Miami Beach, downtown Miami, and adjacent areas might experience delays.

Where can I park my car?

Parking in any Metrorail garage or surface lot costs $4.50 for the whole day and will remain open until the next day.

How do I easily access Ultra Fest 2024?

As the event takes place in downtown Miami and to avoid congestion and other inconveniences, it would be advisable for participants to leave their cars and travel with Metromover or Metrorail.

Both services will be available from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. the next day on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, and on Sunday, March 24, this service will close at midnight.

The county indicated that trains on the Green and Orange Lines will run every 30 minutes, with a combined frequency of 15 minutes between Earlington Heights and Dadeland South stations.

Those coming from outside Miami can take the Orange Line directly from the Miami International Airport Metrorail station to the Government Center Metrorail station.

The price of Metrorail one-way is $2.25 and $5.65 for a one-day pass to the Government Center station, from where you must transfer to the Inner Loop of Metromover (free of charge) to the College/Bayside, First Street, or Bayfront Park Metromover station.

In this case, it is recommended to always use public transportation to get to the event locations, and if you are staying in a hotel in downtown Miami or Brickell, we suggest walking to the venue, thus avoiding transportation inconveniences.

As the crowd will be large during the performances, do not forget to bring enough water to stay hydrated; you can also refill your bottle at stations near the festival.

It is also very important to wear light clothing for the occasion and sunscreen.
