We’re already in May and a great majority of Cubans, as well as applicants from other countries, await to know the results of the DV-2022 Visa Lottery.

If you’re one of them and have questions about how to check your status, don’t worry because we’re going to answer each one of them below.

When are the results of the DV-2022 going to be revealed?

The results of the American Visa Lottery 2022 are going to be revealed on May 8th, 2021 at noon (EDT: Eastern Daylight Time).

Each one of the applicants will be able to check whether they’ve won or not from that date and time which was indicated, according to what is stated on the official website of the United States Department of State.

The results will be available on this official website until September 30th, 2022.

How to know the results of the American Diversity Visa Lottery?

The applicants must enter their Confirmation Number which was generated when the application was submitted.

This number is made up of 16 characters including numbers and letters starting with the year of the Diversity Lottery program in which you applied, in this case, it would start with 2022.

How to do it? This process is quite simple, you just need to load the official website of the U.S. Department of State and click the button “Check Status”, on the next page click on “Continue” and then input the data they request:

  • Confirmation Number
  • Last/Family Name (the same you used in the application)
  • Year of birth
  • And lastly, input the captcha code and then click on “Submit”.

Once these data have been imputed, click on “Accept” and automatically the next page is loaded where the applicant can verify whether they have become winner or not of the DV-2022.

If it states “HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED”, it means that the applicant was NOT selected.

And that’s all, nonetheless, there are three important aspects you have to bear in mind at the moment you know the results of the Diversity Visa Lottery:

  1. The confirmation number is generated once when the application is submitted and finished. If you’ve lost it, the only way to know the results is by recovering it from the same website where you did the application, which is also the only way to know if you’ve become a winner or not.
  2. The U.S. Department of State will NOT send any letter nor notify the applicants by e-mail. Any notification you receive through these media is not genuine.
  3. The American Embassies in the different countries won’t do it either, nor they will publish a list with the winners.

How do I recover my confirmation number to check the results of the Visa Lottery?

We already know that without the confirmation number there’s no other way to know the results, but since months have passed you could have lost it.

If this has happened to you, don’t worry because there’s a way to recover it.

If I won the DV-2022, what’s the deadline to enter the US?

The winners of the DV Lottery 2022 can enter the US until September 30th, 2022.

From the moment they confirm their positive result they have until September 30th of the next year to prepare all the documentation and the rest of the requirements to travel to the United States according to the instructions given to them.

Independently of the result, the U.S. Department of State suggest that all applicants keep their confirmation number until, at least, September 30th, 2022, in case any change could happen.
