The Social Security Administration (SSA) has already started the payments for March 2024 to Social Security beneficiaries in the United States.
The payments will reach significant figures starting with an average payment of $1537, $1909, and up to the maximum established figure of $4873.
These money transfers are received by retirees, survivors, the disabled under the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and those eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
On March 1st, SSA sent two payments, one of them directed to beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program and the other to those of the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program.
On this date, retirees who applied for their benefits before May 1997 also received their money.
According to the established calendar, the second payment will arrive on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, to those who have received retirement or SSDI benefits from May 1997 onwards.
Another requirement related to the birth date is included here: the person must have been born between the 1st and the 10th of any month of the year.
For the subsequent payment dated Wednesday, March 20, those born between the 11th and the 20th of the month of the year will receive it.
The last payment for this month will arrive on Wednesday, March 27, for those born between the 21st and the 31st of any month of the year.
SSA reiterates that payments will be sent by direct deposit to those beneficiaries who have a registered bank account.
If they do not have one, they will receive a paper check sent through postal mail, although this method always takes a bit longer.
For this reason, beneficiaries are recommended to register a bank account if they have one.
