Charter Route to the United States Resumes from this Cuban Province: Will Start on this Date

The Jaime González International Airport, located in the province of Cienfuegos, resumes the charter route to the United States, official sources from the island confirmed.

According to statements made by airport authorities to national press media, in just a few days, the Miami-Cienfuegos route will be operational again.

Laifrez Fernández Montes de Oca, the airport director, said that flights would be scheduled twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, around noon.

The flights, which are already being marketed through Havanatur along with World Atlantic airline, will resume from next March 1st, the executive reported.

This route is resumed after years of suspension and is highly appreciated by local travelers who will no longer have to travel to the country’s capital to fly to the United States.

It will benefit all those from Cienfuegos who currently have parole authorized and also those who will be approved in the future.

And it is that in this implementation there is also a human and personalized touch: those who need to travel will be able to spend more time with their loved ones until the scheduled day of their flight.

Likewise, it will allow residents in the United States to get closer to this destination for family reasons, among others.

The Jaime González connects the Pearl of the South with various nations, and this has become more evident since it reopened its commercial operations in December 2023.

At that time, it opened with Sunwing, the Canadian airline that brings and takes the most tourists from that country, which continues to be the largest emitter of travelers to Cuba.

This year, it is expected that they will expand the entire range of businesses and operations for which they refer to being well prepared after the reopening.

This was another reason to celebrate the Cuban Civil Aviation Worker’s Day, last February 15th, a new opportunity to link destinations and travelers between Cuba and the United States.
