Announcement of the 42nd Edition of the International Tourism Fair of Cuba

The International Tourism Fair in Cuba will reach the heart of the largest island in the Caribbean. From May 2nd to 5th, the 42nd edition of the International Tourism Fair of Cuba (FITCuba 2024) will take place, this time reaching the northern cays of the central Cuban province of Ciego de Ávila.

According to information from official sources, it will be in the Jardines del Rey cays where the most important tourism fair of the Caribbean island will be held this year, dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean.

In that central province is located the second tourist pole of Cuba with great sun and beach attractions, in addition to standing out for its beauty among its Caribbean counterparts.

Since last year, when FITCuba 2023 concluded, it was announced that the 2024 edition to be held in Jardines del Rey would allow the showcasing of novel products that have been developed in the cays to the north of Ciego de Ávila in the nautical, hotel, and extra-hotel areas.

Likewise, the attendance of around 5,000 participants in the travel sector, more than 500 entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of more than 50 airlines during the previous event was confirmed.

This year Cuba was rated by the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best 2024 of Tripadvisor as the second most popular site within the Caribbean and the first cultural destination in the world.

Similarly, in recent years various sites of the largest island of the Antilles have received international recognition, such as placing Varadero among the top 10 beaches in the world, Cuba also obtained the 18th place in international gastronomy.

Furthermore, last year the island was internationally named the first “Fashion Destination” and two of its tourist sites stood out: Playa Pilar in Cayo Guillermo at the 12th place, while Cayo Santa María ranked ninth.

Another recognition achieved by Cuba was the Gold Award for the Most Desired Island in the World, a distinction awarded by the tourism-specialized publication Wanderlust also in 2023 during the World Travel Market in London.

In the case of Jardines del Rey, the venue for the 42nd edition of FITCuba 2024, it has a group of cays (Cayo Coco, Guillermo, Paredón Grande, Antón Chico, and Media Luna) where about 10,000 rooms are distributed in around 30 hotels, houses, aparthotels, and bungalows; in addition to having 40 kilometers of paradisiacal beaches.

The world’s second-largest coral barrier is located about three miles off the coast of Jardines del Rey, where you can find about 26 species of corals in addition to mollusks, crustaceans, dolphins, sharks, and turtles.
